The Secretariat for the Synod of Bishops dedicated Sept. 28 as a day of prayer for the success of the Synod on the family, which is scheduled for Oct. 5-19.

They encourage Masses and other liturgical occasions to be offered in that intention. At least one chapel in Rome will host prayers every day during the synod, which is themed "pastoral challenges to the family in the context of evangelization."

Keep your eyes open for a soon-to-be released leaflet of prayers written by Pope Francis.
