Pakistani minister was prepared to die for God

Shahbaz Bhatti
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti, who was assassinated in Islamabad March 2 for protesting against his country's blasphemy law, said he was ready to lay down his life for God and his nation, writes Deborah Gyapong of Canadian Catholic News.

Federal Immigration Minister Jason Kenney condemned the killing and called on Pakistan to "prevent the abuse of these laws criminalizing blasphemy, which restrict freedom of religion and expression and have disproportionately targeted religious minorities."
