"A dimly lit democracy"


In Holy Post, the National Post's religion blog, Rikki Ratliff asks: "For how can a democracy properly function when its masses make blind assumptions about the laws surrounding its moral framework?"

Ratliff writes in response to the latest Angus Reid Public Opinion poll that two thirds of Canadians are ignorant of the fact that "in Canada a woman can request an abortion at any time during her pregnancy, with no restrictions whatsover."

According to Ratliff, Canadians have avoided pursuing the truth, the information needed to make informed decisions about our country's most important issues.
